Abstract The present invention relates to the technical field of railway track maintenance devices, and disclosed thereby is a self-propelled vehicle for removing sand from a track. The vehicle comprises a driving cab, a walking apparatus and a sand collecting and discharging apparatus; a console is provided within the driving cab, the sand collecting and discharging apparatus is provided at the front of the driving cab, and the walking apparatus is provided below the driving cab, the walking apparatus being provided on a chassis of the driving cab; the walking apparatus comprises walking wheels, working wheels and driven wheels, and the walking wheels, working wheels and driven wheels are all provided on the chassis; the walking wheels for fast walking are driven by power components, and the working wheels for slow travel are driven by driving components. A driver can operate the driving components and power components by means of the console in the driving cab. By means of operating lifting components, the walking wheels and the working wheels alternately cooperate with a track to adapt to low-speed driving when in a sand-cleaning working state and to high-speed driving during transition, which meets the requirements for low-speed driving to clean the sand within the track as well as for high-speed driving and fast transition, reduces the intensity of labor for working personnel, and improves the efficiency of sand cleaning.
